Locomotive #171

Restoration Project


April 2006

Work has restarted on the restoration project under the direction of member Joe Geders.

Due to funding, the project will only involve cosmetically restoring 171 for shows, parades and displaying on operating days.

A power washer is used to clean 171 removing any loose paint, oil and dirt.

171 appeared in the 2006 Memorial Day Parade in Belleville, IL.

Thanks to Wayne Mosbocher for the use of his trailer.

171 on its new trailer. With the smaller trailer, it is easy to move the locomotive out on Sundays for Kodak Moments. The locomotive will remain on the trailer for the rest of the 2006 season.

Thanks to Joe for leading the project to bring 171 back this far.

171 appeared in the 2006 Ballwin Days Parade in Ballwin, Mo on Saturday, June 24th on its new trailer pulled by Mike Brennen.
