Jim Strain, club president, gives a weekly report of happenings at the railroad.

The winter season is going by quickly. It's already the first of March and we've had some nice spring like days recently after a cold February. Photos attached are of the new mainline switch taking place at the west end of the ballast track; two pictures of conduit and wire replacement on the west side of Grand Ave. and the 928 with Geders, Haack & Lawson.

The crew for Saturday was Errante, Voelpel & Geders in the machine shop with 5205's trucks. Haack & Jimmy Scott with 928 getting it prepped for painting. Jim Scott adjusting coupler height on the handicap car. Bitsch, Smith, Lawson & myself digging trenches near the ticket booth to replace wiring. Hank continued to work on the new ballast siding switch.

Sunday saw 52 ties installed. 48 on the ballast siding and 4 on the main by Welch, Marx, Mosbacher, Owings & DeBellis. Haack & Scott continued their work on 928 and Bitsch finished the trench work on the west side of Grand Ave.

Today was one of those great weather days that causes spring fever. Errante, Geder, Kessinger, Voelpel, Tabernacki, J & J Scott, Meyers, Lorance, Smith & Welch. 5205's trucks are nearing completion as is the new mainline switch and all the power lines under Grand Ave. are being replaced along with new conduit. Thanks to the dedicated help of many of our volunteers these projects are coming together just as a new passenger season is only a short time away.
