Another very busy week at the WF&P. Photos attached are of the newly painted passenger loading fence. Thanks to Jimmy Scott & Devin Lawson for getting this finished. The newly rebuilt yard lead switch thanks to Hank Welch. Jim Foster with 704 moving 535 in place to be hydro-tested. Jim & Jimmy Scott greasing the rolling stock. Joe Geders with his new project, the 171. Devin Lawson with 704, 401 and new member Elliott Shaw. Kary with Paula Shaw, Gina & Elliot ready to take a ride behind 5205.
Today's project was replacing the water line from the roundhouse to the pit next to the water tank. Due to the amount of rock Hank & Mike ran into they could not finish today but plan to tomorrow. Sunday's crew was Marx, Lorance, Welch, Romay, Smith, Fritschle, Neubie, J & J Scott, Bell, Bitsch & Mosbacher. The passenger seats in the loading area received a coat of primer. Digging began to replace the roundhouse water line & leaves were cleared off the ROW from Daisy halfway up the hill to Summit.
Saturday's crew was Tabernacki, Eckrich, J & J Scott, Lawson, Haack, Foster, Geders, DeBellis, Shaw, Bitsch, Haack, Welch & myself. 401, 535 & 400 were hydro-tested. All the rolling stock was greased and the 7 rebuilt steel flats were taken to the wye and back by 5205. However, 5205 had to be rescued by 704 on the return trip due to a carburetor problem. Haack continues to make good progress on the 928 while Geders is beginning a cosmetic rebuild of 171.
Welcome to new student member Elliot Shaw who helped out on Saturday. Congratulations to Tim & Elona Kessinger on the birth on their 4th son Matthew Thomas who was born on Friday 4/7. It looks like the WF&P will have plenty of Kessinger members for years to come.
