Jim Strain, club president, gives a weekly report of happenings at the railroad.

Photos attached are of Hunter, Elliott & Kary cleaning 704; the MOW shed & the Ticket booth with a new coat of primer thanks to Jimmy Scott, Devin & Elliott; the new water and air lines in the trench between the roundhouse and water tower thanks to Welch, Lorance, Bitsch & Mosbacher; 171 with Kary, Devin & Joe after being cleaned; the 171 heading down Grand Ave on it's way to the machine shop.

Saturday was cleanup day. The locomotives were pressure washed thanks to Kary who loaned us his washer. The new water line is in place and the trench was filled up on Saturday. We will now have an airline at the water tower.

Today's crew consisted of J & J Scott, Mohen, Bitsch, Lorance, Welch, Geders, Foster & Tabernacki. The fuel shed, MOW shed, & ticket booth received a new coat of paint thanks to Jimmy Scott. Jim Scott was busy numbering the newly painted flat cars, Welch, Lorance, Bitsch & Smith finishing the grounds work with Geders & Foster working on the mounting plate for 403's pilot truck.

We received a surprise last Friday with a listing & photo of the WF&P on the front page of the Friday Post Dispatch Everyday section. We also had a short promo on Show Me St. Louis the same week. Sunday April 30th is scheduled as our annual "warm up" day for operations. We will run trains for the public as needed for any passengers who come out to ride. Our official opening day of course is May 7th.
