Jim Strain, club president, gives a weekly report of happenings at the railroad.

Photos from Saturday; train set #1 ready to roll, Devin Lawson painting trim on the ticket booth, Geders painting 171, the finished ticket booth thanks to Jimmy Scott & Devin (Carol Mosbacher promised to wear matching brown & tan this season while selling tickets), (from today) the new ash pit for the roundhouse lead, and finally Geders & Jimmy Scott with 400 during today's test run.

The final touches have been put on the WF&P for Sunday's (4/30) shakedown runs. We will give rides to the public as necessary. I do have 2 birthday parties scheduled for Sunday so if the weather co-operates we should keep busy. The railroad looks great. Thanks to all who volunteered this winter. I've gotten a number of compliments from members and the public on the amount of work done at the WF&P over the last 6 months including Chris Brophy who said that "more work has been done over the winter by so many different people than I have ever seen. Keep up the good work!"

Members present over the last week, Lawson, Tabernacki, Bitsch, Lorance, Foster, Mosbacher, Mohen, Welch, Marx, Romay, Holden, Fritschle, Owens, Neubie, Smith, Jim & Jimmy Scott (these two put in over 100 work days total this winter), Haack, Hunter, Elliott, Brennan, Geders, Massie, & myself. Total work days for this winter were very close to last year, just over 650. As you can see we have a great group of dedicated volunteers. Thanks also to those who provided the work reports including Neubie, Marx, Bitsch, Tabernacki & Lorance.

I heard from Herold Wind and he will be in town from 4/27 to 5/6, and don't forget that Chris Brophy will be in town from 5/15 to 5/23. We look forward to seeing both again.

I have new name tags & pocket rule books for everyone. See me the next Sunday you are at Glencoe.
