Jim Strain, club president, gives a weekly report of happenings at the railroad.
Mother's Day turned out to be cold and slightly wet. The passenger count was 222 which is not bad considering. Power was supplied by 400, 535 and 13. Many thanks to all the volunteers who spent a day away from their families to brave the weather.
Photos attached are of Geders with 400 leaving Glencoe; Wapelhorst with his grandson Andrew coupling up 400 at Yeatman, Carol Mosbacher in the ticket booth & the first doubleheader of the season with Fritschle & 535, then Wapelhorst with 400.
Today (Wednesday) there was a special passenger run with 14 senior citizens from Wildwood YMCA. Members in attendance were Foster, Brennan, Errante, Smith, Brophy, Lorance, Bitsch, Welch, Haack, J & J Scott & myself. It was great to see Chris again and have the chance to work with him. Chris worked on re-installing the throttle on 180. Chris will participate in operations this Sunday so please make an effort to visit and say hello.
Bon-Voyage to Steve Marx and his wife who are headed to Poland for a group tour of streetcar systems. He also hopes to see steam as there is some steam still running in daily freight and passenger operations in Poland.
