Jim Strain, club president, gives a weekly report of happenings at the railroad.

Photos from Sunday include a visit from Chris Brophy; Hardt with 704 at the wye; Brophy & Lorance with 535; Conductor Geders on an EB at Mohan; Conductor Brophy at Glencoe; Chris, Geders & I with 400 at the Mohan. The last two photos are from member Ken Viera.

The weather Sunday was great!! 541 passengers rode which makes our largest number so far this season. Power for the day was 400, 535, 13 & 704. We had plenty of good help and a just a minor issue with the 400 which Geders promptly repaired.

It was good to see Chris again, with a full year of experience under his belt in Nevada he carries himself very professionally. His situation in Nevada is quickly changing as the CMO he reported to over the last year is leaving Nevada Northern. At this time Chris doesn't know who his new boss will be or even if NN can find someone competent to take the job. Chris will keep in touch and I'll pass on any news as I get it.

Thanks to member Ken Viera who provided a hot breakfast and lunch to all the volunteers on Sunday. Ken's son celebrated his 4th birthday by riding the WF&P all day long.

The postcards went out for the annual WF&P members day on June 24th. Lunch will be catered by Super Smokers in Eureka. The WF&P plans to have a float in the Belleville Memorial Day parade. The cosmetically restored 171 will be on the float.
