Jim Strain, club president, gives a weekly report of happenings at the railroad.

Photos from Sunday are Devin & Hunter with 180; Neubie with 535 leaving Glencoe; Tabernacki with 535 EB @ Mohan; Lawson & Haack with 180 running at the same spot and Pekarek with 400 at Yeatman.

The passenger count for Sunday was 480. Not bad at all considering the temp was in the 90s and it was the holiday weekend. Except for a lull around 2pm traffic was steady all afternoon. 535, 400 & 13 provided power for the day. Yes the 180 ran for the first time this year. Thanks to Lawson, Brophy & Haack for putting the finishing touches on it for it's test run. The 180 still needs to be timed but ran well otherwise.

Congratulations to Jim Pekarek who made his first passenger run as a student engineer. Jim & his friend Rick drove up from the Springfield, Mo. area to spend the day. Mike Walsh has returned from his Sophomore year at college for the summer. Happy Birthday to Elliott Littlejohn who celebrated his 12th on Sunday. Thanks to Paula who brought out food for all the members to share. Paula, the chicken wings were great !! Fred Kiesel was out again on Sunday. Fred is moving pretty slow these days but manages to drive himself to Glencoe and back.

Thanks to all who braved the heat Sunday to help out. We had plenty of members for operations, the ticket booth & souvenir table. We have a great group of dedicated volunteers.
