Jim Strain, club president, gives a weekly report of happenings at the railroad.

Sunday was typical for July, sunny & hot. We still had 453 passengers out to ride. Power for the day was 535, 400 & 5205. 5205 is running well after a new hydraulic valve was installed and the carburetor was rebuilt. 400 has had bushing replaced on the left side valve gear and is running much quieter.

Photos attached are of the 928 break in run on the evening of member's day. The 928 was running without a cab and the red running boards are now painted black. 300's tender will be used in the interim until one is built for 928. While a few bugs were found Steve Haack plans to have it back on the road again soon. Also photos from Sunday include Geders & Hunter with 400 at Yeatman; Marx who has grown very fond of 5205 EB at Bluffs & of course our famous souvenir agents waving to an outbound train.

Three cheers to Paul Konopacki for the excellent DVD he produced of member's day events and volunteers. Paul brought out a number of copies, which were quickly gone, so he will bring more next Sunday. For those of you out of town please let me know if you would like one and I'll mail you a copy. Again thanks to Paul for the time & effort he has put into documenting the WF&P over the last several months, it's very much appreciated.
