Welch and crew have taken advantage of the improved weather and already installed over half of the replacement ties on the main and as of today they have completed ties from Glencoe to half way between Bluffs & Mohan. Today's MOW crew was Paul Smith, Neubie, Lorance & Welch; Sunday's crew was Marx, Ernst, Bell, Mosbacher, Lorance & Hank.
Jim Keaton & Jim Scott continue with rolling stock rebuilds and the 251 gon is completed after some major truck & wheel work. Today Ed Moore and Jim Foster helped Tabernacki with 534 and 535. 535 now has a new reverse lever made by Ralph Voelpel. Saturday saw a a busy crew in the roundhouse with Errante, Eckrich, Fritschle, Hardt, Devin, Dale & Bob T.
Many thanks to Jim Scott for setting off the fire alarm on Saturday, I'm sure Metro West fire department appreciated the practice.
Photos attached are of Sunday's track crew and a photo of the nearly finished carbarn extension. While working at Bluff's on Sunday we found a broken plastic tie which split in two over the winter, it was removed and replaced. I also included a nice photo from Chris Brophy of a mixed train on the Nevada Northern during their recent winter photo shoot.
We have two birthday's of note, Dale just turned 40 years old and our Nevada resident agent Joe Geders will celebrate a birthday tomorrow (Mar. 8). Congratulations to both.
Jim
