Jim Strain, club president, gives a weekly report of happenings at the railroad.

First for the important stuff. Best wishes to John Errante who is in Mo. Baptist hospital after having by-pass surgery on Monday. John is doing very well and would enjoy as many visitors as can stop by and see him. My understanding is that by Tuesday John was already flirting with the nurses. Go John !!

Photos attached are from Saturday. Thanks to Gina & Paula for tackling the cleanup of the crew bathroom. That's two very tough ladies that would take on that task. It looks great if only for a short while. Devin & Hunter got 171 loaded on the trailer for the show this weekend. We had a special B-day run for a four year old engineer from Mike Lorance's family. The white spots in the photos are very large snow flakes.

Don't forget the Collinsville train show is this weekend, the WF&P represented by Jim Greathouse will be there. If you have time to help Jim with the booth please contact him. With the 171 there on display we will be very busy both days.

Work continues on track, rolling stock & locomotives. The spring weather has helped track work considerably and ties are installed up to Summit with ballast work not far behind.

Believe it or not Members Day is only 90 days away. It's the 4th Saturday in June which will be 6/23. Currently along with many members and family we have several visiting locomotives scheduled to attend. Jim Pekarek & Carey Williams will bring a locomotive and I do expect to see Lucky #7 from Decatur while the guys from C&H RR in Topeka will bring a rail truck and an F7.

Sept 14-16th will be the Grand Scales convention at John Wood's railroad in Steelville, Mo. The WF&P will be featured on Thursday 9/13 as an extra feature for the convention visitors. I'll provdie more info as this develops.
