Photos attached are of Sunday's track crew, They unloaded a number of cars of ballast at Mohan and then removed the switch stand for the Mohan turntable track. The switch and stand will be rebuilt during the summer.
As you can see by the photos there was a good sized group out for MOW work on Sunday. The main line is looking great and it's almost ready for the start of the 2007 season. Dale & Devin were installing signal wire at Bluffs while Tabernacki & Haack were in the roundhouse both Saturday and Sunday. Scotty helped me put the new choke cable on 13 and Jimmy S. put a coat of black on 928.
Saturday's roundhouse crew was Hardt, Haack, Lawson, Forster & Tabernacki. John Mohen was helping the Scotts in the roundhouse, Dale was working on the signal at Bluffs, while Hank continued on the interior of the carbarn extension
We were well represented Saturday by Jim Greathouse and Gina Debellis at the Kirkwood train show. Thanks to both for their efforts at the show, 171 was there on display and continued to attract many visitors.
Yesterday (Wed.) saw some great weather and another good crew out for the day. Keeton & Scott finishing car work Tabernacki was finishing the connections for 535's new reverse lever; Neubie, Lorance and Welch working on the carbarn and spreading ballast on Mohan Cutoff; then straightened rail for use in the carbarn extension. Dennis Smith, Percival and Fritschle also arrived after lunch to help with the rail bending. I got the job of changing the oil in 13 and 5205 with help from Foster, then began putting the 400 back together for it's hydro test.
There is still plenty of work to do before the season begins. If you have some spare time this weekend the WF&P would be a great destination.
