Photos attached are from Sunday. The weather was super with some clouds and comfortable temps. Our dependable ticket agent, Carol Mosbacher, sold exactly 500 tickets for the day. 928, 535 & 13 were the power for the day. Everything ran smoothly and 928 got in it's first full day of operating and ran perfectly. Thanks to Steve Haack for the work he did on 928 over the winter. A full 9 car train is hardly a challenge for the 928.
We had visitors from an antique car club, a motorcycle club and even the Goodyear Blimp flew overhead. Again we had plenty of volunteers including new member Glenn Wolters who began his training. Welcome to Glenn. We had a visit from John Errante with several of his friends and we immediately put him to work running #13. John is doing very well and it was great to see him again.
Congratulations to Devin Lawson who was recently hired by Six Flags to work this summer. Devin has been busy getting 180 ready for operation on Members Day. The throttle was leaking and it had to be removed. A new gasket was made and then reinstalled.
The carbarn extension is now completed and this will allow some much needed space to open up for Scotty's rolling stock. Thanks to Hank & Mike L. for fitting this project in along with all the track work that was done this winter.
A photo attched shows the dual sided doors now on the 1300 passenger car. Thanks to Jim Keeton for his expertise & effort on this project as well as Scotty. Next comes the new paint job and then they will do the same for the 240 handicap car.
Final call for the Ken Davis meet this Saturday and the WF&P Member's Day is just over 2 weeks away. The lunch will be catered by Super Smokers as was last year so plan on spending the 23rd at the WF&P - just remember to RSVP for lunch.
The morning of the 23rd is also the annual Ballwin Days parade and Jim Greathouse plans to pull the trailer with the caboose on it. If you are able to help Jim that morning please contact him. The parade will be over in plenty of time for lunch at the WF&P.
Jim
