Jim Strain, club president, gives a weekly report of happenings at the railroad.

Sunday was very warm but not bad at all. 511 passengers paid to ride the WF&P. We were very busy early but traffic died off about 3pm. Power for the day was 5205, 535 & 928. Thanks to all who volunteered for the day. Congratulations to Bob Rands who qualified as a new brakeman and welcome back to Joe Christen who made several trips as a conductor. Bob Percival also made an appearance and began a refresher course on being a train crewman. Student member Matt Grewe is receiving a lot of compliments from the train crews about his hard work and knowledge of the brakeman duties while Brandon Viera is a great conductor's assistant and has ticket punching down to a fine art.

Today (Wed) saw Lorance & Welch doing mid-season checks of switches on the main line;
Scotty was making new coupler pins while Foster with grandson Derrick began installing the insulation on 534's boiler & Dennis Smith trimmed tree limbs around the yard and station. It was a hot one today so it wasn't the most pleasant day for working but fortunately our Wednesday crew is very dedicated.

Photos attached are courtesy of Jimmy Scott. Jimmy just finalized a deal with Fazoli's restaurants for the WF&P. We will give ticket purchasers a coupon that they can present at the restaurant and 15% of their meal cost will go to the WF&P. Thanks Jimmy.
