What a great day the WF&P had on Sunday. 592 tickets were sold by ticket agent Carol Mosbacher. The weather was nearly perfect for a July day. The temp was in the 80s with low humidity. Thanks to all who volunteered and made the day a success. There are no photos attached as Nancy and I were out of town for the weekend.
Jim Scott reported that today (Wed.) was a very busy work day with 2 special passenger runs. Jim & son Jimmy took the trucks out from under the caboose and opened up the king pin hole in an attempt to remedy it's tendency to derail. Welch & Lorance began work to replace the door on the stucco and attach a door sill to keep the rain off. They also tended to switches in the yard. Brennan, Foster & Keeton were in attendance as well.
Many of you should have received an invitation to John Wood's miniature railroad convention in September on the 14-16th. This is also a great opportunity for the WF&P. The WF&P will be open for any of the participants on Thursday Sept. 13th. If you are interested in helping out on the 13th please contact me.
Nancy & I were at the 12" gauge Magic City RR in Moberly, Mo. on Sunday. Many thanks to the members of this fantastic railroad for their generous hospitality. If you haven't been there it is certainly worth the drive. They operate on Sunday's from 1-5pm. I will have some photos to send out later.
