Sunday was a beautiful day with temps in the 80s. The passenger count was 573 which was helped by KSDK Channel 5 and Heidi Glaus who featured the WF&P on their Tuesday news show. Many thanks to Heidi who has made several visits to ride our train and is a big fan of the WF&P. To view the video go to
www.ksdk.com then click on Today in St. Louis, then More Featured Stories and the site will provide a list that includes the WF&P.
Power for the day was 928, 535 & 13. Bob Hardt was the TM and operations ran smoothly.
Thanks to all who volunteered for the day as the crew count was a little tight considering the large number of passengers.
Today's work crew (Wed.) way Jimmy Scott painting the 1300 while being closely watched by supervisors Brennan & the elder Scott. 534's interior cab got a coat of paint. Delaney and Errante were at Glencoe on Tuesday with Bob T. working on 401.
Photos attached of the WF&P are courtesy of Jimmy Scott over the two Sundays I was on vacation. I have included some of my trip photos which show Chris Brophy and the Nevada Northern. Mike Lorance, Joe Geders and I spent two days with Chris in Ely and then the 4 of us headed to the Cumbres & Toltec, San Luis & Rio Grande, then the Durango & Silverton. We had a great time and it was a pleasure to be able to spend a week with Chris and Joe and see Chris at work on the Nevada Northern. On Monday we all rode the C&TS and were involved in two derailments near Mud Tunnel. The cause was shifted rail from recent track work. No injuries fortunately, but it was a very interesting experience.
