Jim Strain, club president, gives a weekly report of happenings at the railroad.

Sunday (September 9th) had 400 passengers riding the WF&P which included 50 from the St. Louis Lionel Club. We really enjoy their yearly visit and picnic, however they always seem concerned that we operate with only 2 rails instead of 3 ???

Power for the 9th was 928, 535 and 13. Congratulations to Nathan Patterson who qualified as a brakeman that day. Nathan returns after volunteering years ago as a student and has quickly become very active.

Welcome to the Mississippi Valley N Scalers who are setup in the GFK with their modular layout for the last 3 Sundays in September. This is to help them advertise their October train show in Kirkwood. (I will provide the dates later on this show)

Thanks to Jimmy Scott for the additional photos from Thursday's convention special.

Also many thanks to Ken Davis and Tim Jacobs for bringing #7 down from Decatur to operate for the day. It was a great addition to the festivities. We had plenty of help for the day as a number of members took the day off of work.

It was a very successful day with approximately 100 first time visitors. Special mention to Greg Robinson who is "Grand Scales Magazine". Greg spent the day taking film for a future video and interviewing many of the WF&P members. Thanks also to John Woods who encouraged our involvement in the convention and John was also one of the Thursday WF&P visitors. I'm sure John had a very successful convention as his ATT&NW is amazing.

If you missed today (September 13th) it was one for the history book. We had visitors from all over the US and as far away as Australia. We also made a lot of friends today and received many well deserved compliments on the WF&P.
