Jim Strain, club president, gives a weekly report of happenings at the railroad.

Less than two weeks until Christmas and we've had more rain in the last 7 days than in the prior seven months. Fortunately we missed most of the bad ice storms.

Photos attached are from Saturday and include the progress on 534, the expanded carbarn shop with Scotty, Jimmy, Mike & Dale talking about the final floor area that needed to be concreted. The concrete work was done today (Wed.) courtesy of Welch, Lorance, P. Smith and Neubie. Also Hardt, Tabernacki & Clayton checking out 5205 which will be getting new power shortly, the same gas engine that is in 13 & 704.

Also today's crew included Scotty, Mohen & Keaton re-organizing the carbarn shop while Errante & Tabernacki worked on 401 which now has a rebuilt crosshead on the right side. After the concrete work 12 lengths of 20ft rail was hauled to the wye. Of course I'm still turning tender wheels in the machine shop.

Our condolences to Gina & Hunter DeBellis as Gina's father passed away recently after a very long illness. The service for Roy DeBellis will be private.

No report from the last Sunday as it rained & rained & rained, all the remaining tie material has been cut into two foot lengths and more will be purchased if necessary. Spikes will be needed and two kegs will be acquired. Dale has still been busy trenching for signal conduit. He currently has about 350 ft completed with another 500 ft to go. Sunday the 2nd had Marx, Owings, Lorance & Welch removing leaves from around the property. Tuesday the 4th had Hank & Neubie hauling more rail to the wye and they began attaching the lengths at the end of the existing track, while Wednesday the 5th had Joe Christen in attendance along with the regulars.

Happy Holidays to all !!!

Jim
