Jim Strain, club president, gives a weekly report of happenings at the railroad.

Photos attached are courtesy of Devin Lawson & Jimmy Scott from the WF&P Annual Meeting last Saturday. Thanks to all who attended and made it a memorable afternoon.

Don Miller along with Herold & Louise Wind as well as Jim Pekarek made the trip to St. Louis to participate. Don Miller began the meeting with a very nice tribute to Fred Kiesel while Steve Haack unveiled the headlight for 928 with Fred's name appropriately included. Several subjects were addressed at the meeting. Herold Wind initiated a boiler fund for 171, John Delaney made a request to list those deceased members who had actively contributed to the WF&P over the years (this will be done on the web site as well as a plaque in the GFK meeting room) and Haack gave details on the scheduled Grand Scales Meet in September to be held at John Wood's railroad and the opportunities for the WF&P.

After the meeting we had WF&P films as well as some footage of Brophy working at the Nevada Northern. Dinner was very good and thanks to Kate Hardt for setting up the meeting and the menu.

Dale Bitsch was chairman of the nominating committee for this year's election, and with some appointed help, the ballots were counted and the Board of Governors remains the same for 2007.

We had a positive meeting with the City of Wildwood last Thursday regarding the WF&P's proposal to extend track west from Glencoe along the Hamilton-Carr trail to the intersection of Hwy 109 & Old State Rd. There are a few property issues to resolve but most of the ROW is already in the hands of Wildwood and they are very interested in having the WF&P construct this extension.

Today (Wednesday) saw Scotty, Percival & Greathouse working on the trucks for 1300.
Jim Greathouse is also getting the trailer and 171 ready to be on display at the Collinsville Train Show in March. Dennis Smith & Tabernacki worked on 534 while Percival removed wash out plugs on 401.
