Various members give a report of happenings at the railroad.
Some of you may have heard by now that Bob Tabernacki, Superintendent of Motive Power, (the guy in charge of keeping the locomotives running) was found unconscious this past Saturday morning in the round house by one of our members. 911 was called and Bob was taken to St. Luke's Hospital. After several days in ICU Bob has been moved to a semi-private room #9604 at St. Luke's Hospital. Please pass around the info and encourage the WF&P members to stop by and visit with him.
Sunday, June 8 saw over 279 passengers on the first day of the year to reach 93 degrees. Let's just say it was hot.
Power for the day was provided by 400, 535, and 13. Midday 400 was put away then we finnished out with the last 2 with 535.
Member's Day is Saturday, June 28th. Be sure to contact Bob Hardt and let him know how many will be coming. The day will start off with the Ballwin Day's Parade. See Mike Brennan for details if you would like to be part of the parade.

Photos provided by Jimmy Scott. 171, 102, frame for 300 and a caboose were pulled out from the trailer that was caught in the flood. After receiving a power washing by Jim Greathouse, Mike Walsh removed the cylender covers and washed out the steam chests and relubed many of the parts. All three locomotives are on the list to have new boilers as funds become available. To donate to their restoration, please contact Jim Greathouse.
