Various members give a report of happenings at the railroad.

Sunday, February 8, 2009. Greathouse was out cleaning two of the 100 Series Wooden Flats for the Exhibition at the Barriger Library on the Campus of the University of Missouri-St. Louis for a Display called "Railroads in the Expansion of the West". The display will open to the public on March 7th.

Marx, Mosbacher, Christen, Welch and Neubauer dug 6 postholes for the Passenger Turntable Ring Rail. This will look like the roundhouse ring rail when completed.

Lorance, Ernst and the above Five went down to Yeatman and installed 30 ties on the Northward Extension. Bitsch was at Bluffs digging a trench for signal lines.

Tuesday February 10, 2009 Mosbacher and Neubauer hauled 8 MTY barrels out to Spirit Airport and hauled 3 loaded drums of fuel for our locomotives back to Glencoe. It started raining. djn

Wednesday, February 11, 2009 Rolling Stock - Today we finished the fourth car in the upgrade project. Hieght of the coupler was adjusted. No work will be done Saturday due to attending the Dupo Train Show. I hope to start working on Sundays' next week. Jim Scott.

Saturday, February 14, 2009 We attended the Dupo Train Show in Dopo, IL. Thanks to Kary Eckrich, Greg Whapelhorst, Jimmy Scott and Jim Greathouse for attending. They said they talked to a lot of people who still say they have never heard of the WF&P.

Sunday, February 16, 2009 Went to the railroad today, and Mike Brennan was there. wow. he's back. We moved a few cars around with #13, and put another car in the shop to work on. Jim Scott

Wayne Mosbacher and David Neubauer got there about 12.30. Andrew Dean was working in the roundhouse with "assistance" by Clayton Cullen.

Hank Welch was there with the chain saw down at the stucco lot. Tom Ernst and Mike Lorance arrived. We started cutting up the downed trees into sized pieces and inserted into Neubie's truck "Big Blue". Then Steve Marx arrived and we felled one more tree.

We loaded "xtra" ties and 5 pieces of rail in the work train cars then motored with #704 out to the wye. Lorance was engineer and sounded the horn before Bluffs so Dale Bitsch would move the #41 and his digging cars off the main. Since we started later than usual we only got 23 ties spiked down. Boy was it getting frigid out at Yeatman. The spot where we are with the track laying is just opposite the small crater that had water at one time. I think Hank filled this in with the asphalt dug up to create our right of way going northbound. When we got back most of us went into the roundhouse where Steve Haack was working on the front end of the #401. Some new items were on the floor painted black. Particularly noticed by me were the "new" Wagner trucks under the tender of #403. djn

Tuesday, February 17, 2007 Well things are moving along. Work on 403 is progressing well as the tender is starting to take shape. Andrew Dean and others are working on painting and Bob Hardt is working on the steel to make the tender look like a real tender. Bob Hardt dropped off the steel for 928s tender. Cut and formed, the tender is a major need for 928 as we have been running it with 401's tender all last year. 535's boiler has had no report as of yet. Other motive power will have new reports as time progresses. Thanks to all that are working in the roundhouse, You're doing a great job.
