Various members give a report of happenings at the railroad.
Sunday, May 31. The passenger count for the day 476. Locomotives 13, 5205, and 928 were called up as power for the day.
Rolling Stock
Jim Scott is talking with
Vatterott
College, and the trades director, Richard Lofftus. He told him who we are and asked if they would be willing to finish building the three remaining Wagner replacement cars. He was very receptive to the idea. We would furnish the material and they do the labor. We would have to have inspections of the cars at various stages of construction. They would build the frame, floor, skeleton, and doors of the cars, and we finish with the skin and seats.
Machine Shop
The motor and pulley have been installed on the new lathe
Building and Grounds
There is a new configuration on the water tower for conditioner treatment. Be sure to speak with Mike Lorance or a BOG member before using the water tower to learn how the new system works. This will control the ph level of the water used in the boilers.
Maintenance Of Way
More plastic ties are being ordered. Approval for approximately 9,000 new ties was granted at the June BOG meeting.
Motive Power
Work continues on several of the locomotives.
