Cullen, George, The Mayhew’s and White were in the RH today. Cullen continued to reassemble 928. We hope to perform the “hydro” tomorrow followed by a slow test fire to cure the grout for the new firebrick. If all goes well the loco may be given a “shakedown” evaluation next weekend.
Mayhew and George made modifications to the sight glass plumbing on 535 then test fired her. She made three trips to the “Y” with improvement in performance each trip. She will be fired tomorrow for opening day and if she performs well, we will run her on public trains.
Jerry Fritschle found time away from the zoo and Six Flags to work on 928. He corrected some of the issue found last Sunday. We hope to receive them next week and test the locomotive the week of May 16. If all goes well we hope to have 928 in service on 5/23.
