171 rolled out onto the turntable after it has been wiped down and polished up.
171 moved onto trailer.

Securing locomotive and tender to the trailer.
We often say that 171 has seen more highway miles than rail miles.
Unloading in parking garage at UMSL.
Doors lead to a tunnel that is on a downward slant to the lower level of the library.
Half way down the tunnel is a 90 degree left turn.
This proved to be a challenge due to several pallets of items stored in the tunnel.
After a few reverse moves, we were aimed down to the doorway into the library's lower level.
As we rolled over the doorway's threshold, the right front wheel support snagged and cracked the weld.
ALL STOP!!!!!!!
The front end was jacked up so we could slide a cart under for support. Once the supports were in place, we were underway again.
The locomotive was rolled into place still on the supported cart. The protective boards on the floor were removed so we could move the cart closer to the wall.
Now the real fun begins.
The A-Frame was set up and hoists were attached to the locomotive to lift it off the cart. With the cart removed, Haack checks that we are ready to lower the locomotive to within a few inches from the floor.
The protective boards were put back in then display track was then set into place.
Once the locomotive was in place, the tender was lifts by hand and place on the track then attached to the locomotive.
The hard part was over.
(or was it? stay tuned for part two)
