Locomotive 5205 is based on an ALCO FA-1 locomotive. Built in 1991 at the WF&P Shops by member John Delaney, it is powered by a 25hp gasoline engine that operates two hydraulic motors mounted on the trucks (wheel sets). These motors are connected to each of the four axles by chains.
5205 can be seen in service on Sunday afternoons during operations and is often used in rotation to give #13 a break. Originally in a Frisco paint scheme, it was repainted in around 2015 in a blue/white scheme. It is now being repainted and we will reveal the new paint scheme in 2025. |
