Tickets and Important Information

Check back soon for tickets in 2024!
Now closed for 2023
Please read all the below information prior to your visit. We look forward to seeing you again in May, 2024!

Frequently Asked Questions and Important Information

  • May - September tickets are $20 per car (October cars will be posted later in the season)
    • We do not sell tickets per person, only per car. A passenger car can accommodate approximately 5 people. For larger groups, please reserve an appropriate number of cars.
  • Trains will run on a strict schedule
    • If you miss your reserved train, you will not receive a refund or tickets for a later train. Your reservation will be considered a donation to the railroad. Be sure to arrive early!
  • Check in when you arrive
    • Upon arriving, check in at the station. We will give you a paper ticket and an assigned car. You will then be directed to your train when it is ready to board. Be sure to arrive and check in early so you don't miss your train!
  • Do you do birthday parties?
    • We do! If you would like to book a birthday party, it’s easy: simply reserve how many cars you’ll need for the date you’d like. There is a picnic area at the edge of the yard; however, we do not reserve this ahead of time and is on a first-come-first-served basis. In the case you’d like to use to use the picnic area, we recommend arriving early in the day (around 10am).
  • Do you need special accommodations?
    • Passengers with mobility issues or other needs should select “special loading access” when booking their ticket. This will notify the ticket booth ahead of time, so we can make appropriate arrangements prior to your arrival. If you have any other questions or concerns, please send us an email.

  • What if I don’t see the date or time I want to reserve?
    • Unfortunately, that means that we are sold out already for that date/time. Check back on the website, though, because if people reschedule or cancel, the ticket will appear online again.
  • What if it rains, storms, etc.?
    • For the last 80 years our trains have run rain or shine, and will continue to do so. However, in the case of extreme weather (hail, lightning, etc.) or other event that causes the railroad to suspend operations, we will notify those ticket holders with a promo code that may be used to obtain tickets for a later date. Only if the WF&P cancels a train due to weather do we provide weather-related rescheduling or refunds.
  • Can I cancel or reschedule my ticket?
    • Yes! You can reschedule or cancel your ticket up until 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure time by clicking the “Change/Cancel Appointment” button in your ticket confirmation email. If you reschedule, no fees will be assessed, and your payment will automatically be applied to your new ticket time. If you cancel, however, you only will receive a partial refund, since our credit card servicer has started charging us a fee in 2023 to issue refunds. You will see the payment return to your credit card within 2-3 business days of the refund with a termination fee subtracted to cover the payment processing costs.

In the case that you do not reschedule or cancel at least 48 hours in advance, and you do not show up for your ticketed time, your reservation will be considered a donation to the railroad. We do not provide rescheduling or cancellation services less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled reservation time.
